What is UYA?
During times of crisis such as COVID-19 and political changes, a small group emerged with charitable goals. To help those in difficulty, this group was founded by five young people (5 Founding Members) who are passionate about charity. Philanthropy-minded people from various places came together and formed an organization called the United Youth Association of Burma on 19 May 2021.From the time of its establishment until today, monthly donations and humanitarian assistance activities have been carried out continuously.Since its formation, UYA has remained steadfast in its mission to uplift communities and offer hope where it's needed most. Driven by the energy and dedication of its volunteers, the organization has grown remarkably both in reach and impact. We always have our monthly on-ground donation drives, as well as other charitable programs that tackle real-world challenges. UYA has also consistently responded to natural disasters, rapidly organizing online aid efforts to reach affected communities across the country. One significant achievement is that, with the huge help of donors, we were able to contribute in medicine, food, pets, protection equipment, water, utilities, toilets, shelter emergency equipment and many more, in more than 10 cities with the total donation of 60,000,000 kyats, all thanks to our donors, alongside the contribution of our volunteers.UYA began to gain wide recognition toward the end of 2024 and into 2025. This rise was powered by the tireless efforts of its volunteers, young individuals committed to making a difference in the lives of others. Among our most impactful initiatives are the Bagan Project, which was specially targeted at supporting orphans and vulnerable children in the region, and UYA Street Donations, where members bring food, essentials, and care directly to people in need. One of our big achievements is Eco Radio which is already completed, focuses on orphans and environmental awareness, which will be under our UYA Radio, a major umbrella program designed to expand into multiple impactful radio-based projects. Among them, Alongside it, we are developing Youth Craft Radio with Albee's, Electrical Engineering related untitled Radio with Techno Point and other upcoming stations that will explore a wide variety of themes, from youth empowerment and creativity to education and mental well-being.We are also proud to introduce Mee Eain Nge (Little Lantern) — our dedicated division for research and outreach. It serves as a charity guide platform, where we actively seek out, verify, and share valuable information about orphanages and communities in need. Mee Eain Nge aims to shine a light on underrepresented causes and connect donors, volunteers, and partners to the places where help is most needed. While it's impossible to list every single contribution, our mission is clear, UYA will dream more, learn more, do more and become more. We move with vision. We dream then do. We act with courage. We then change our world. And together, we are the United Youth Association of Burma, UYA.
